Kirkcaldy Kestrels have continued to build for the upcoming season by confirming the first two ‘D’ men on their roster.
Iain Quinn and Andrew Thomson have agreed another year at Fife Ice Arena to kick-off the rebuild of the Kestrels’ defensive unit.
The pair are products of the club’s junior system and both have represented Scotland extensively at that level.
Quinn, who also spent time at the Ontario Hockey Academy (OHA) in Canada as a junior, says he is eager to help the Kestrels climb the Scottish National League (SNL) standings next term.
“I’m looking forward to getting back on the ice to push for some silverware with the lads this season,” he said. “Last season was an adjustment period for us after losing some key players.
“Towards the end though we’d turned it around and were playing some great hockey heading into the play-offs.”
In addition to icing with the Kestrels in the SNL last season, Thomson also continued his development with Fife Falcons and Fife Flames at junior level.
The youngster is keen to keep progressing with the Kestrels and is confident he can make his mark in the senior league.
“I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season,” he said. “It’ll be my first full year at SNL level and I’ll be looking to contribute within the team to a successful season.”
