Glasgow Mustangs – winners of the Bowl 2023
The stage is set for an exciting weekend of ice hockey action in Dumfries, as the Scottish Ice Hockey Bowl Tournament gets underway. With 23 games scheduled, including two semi-finals and the highly anticipated final on Sunday evening, hockey fans are in for a treat.
The puck drops for the first game on Saturday at 9 am, kicking off the tournament in style. Entry is free for all spectators, making it an excellent opportunity for hockey enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike to witness the great atmosphere of our sport.
Qualifying teams ready to battle it out on the ice include the Mariners, Stingers, and Highlanders, who will join the Belfast Foxes, Coatbridge Redwings, Hamilton Hawks, Highland Caps, Inverness Hurricanes, Lossiemouth Jets, and Lowland Riders.
Following the traditional format, the teams will be divided into Pool A and Pool B, with the winners of each pool facing off the runners up in the opposite pool in the semi-finals.
The games will be played in two 15-minute periods with a running clock, ensuring fast-paced and action-packed matches.
Last year’s champions, the Glasgow Mustangs, will be absent from the tournament, leaving the door wide open for a new team to etch their name in the history books.
With the competitive spirit running high and the thrill of the chase palpable, this year’s Scottish Ice Hockey Bowl Tournament promises to be a great weekend of Hockey.
