Scottish Ice Hockey has noted the latest developments from our colleagues in England regarding the possible reopening of rinks there later this month.
The two countries are currently operating to slightly different timescales, with Scotland working through phase three of its plan to navigate out of the COVID-19 crisis.
The latest Scottish government advice states that ‘live events (indoors) with physical distancing and restricted numbers’ will not be possible before 31st July at the earliest.
SIH is continuing to liaise with partners from across the UK with a view to getting our sport up-and-running again when it safe to do so.
This work is ongoing and while we understand that these are frustrating times for everyone connected to the sport, we remain committed to being led by the advice issued by the appropriate authorities in Scotland.
When this is updated, we will strive to advance forward to the next phase of our previously published Return to Play plan.
