Scottish National League (SNL) pacesetters Aberdeen Lynx face a tricky test on Saturday as they strive to maintain their 100% record this season.
Lynx have rattled off four straight victories at the start of the campaign to move three points clear at the top of the standings.
However, their trip to Paisley Pirates this weekend is likely to provide a stern examination of their title credentials.
After losing their opening game of the season, the Pirates have bounced back to secure two victories over the past couple of weeks.
Kilmarnock Thunder are also in action on Saturday as they welcome Dundee Comets to the Galleon Leisure Centre.
Thunder staged an excellent fightback last weekend to secure a 9-7 win at North Ayrshire Wild and will be hoping to follow up against the Comets.
This will be the visitors’ first outing in the SNL this term, following their exploits in the NIHL Moralee Cup.
The Comets finished second in the northern group behind Solway Sharks and were scheduled to face Solihull Barons in the semi-finals.
Their progression to the final was confirmed this week after the English Ice Hockey Association threw the Barons out of the competition for failing to agree on dates for the last four clash.
There is one league game on Sunday, with Kirkcaldy Kestrels going head-to-head with Dundee Tigers at Fife Ice Arena.
The Kestrels are currently third in the standings, one point behind the Tigers with a game in hand.
