SNL round-up: Comets start summer rebuild, ex-Racers return

Dundee Comets have started preparations for the 2022/23 Scottish National League (SNL) season by announcing two returnees to their roster.

Ben Brown returns for his third season with the club, while fellow forward Michael Ireland is back in the fold for a second campaign.

Kirkcaldy Kestrels have been extremely active over the past week, adding numerous players to their squad for the upcoming campaign.

They include Sean Cochrane, Andrew Finlay, Jake Grubb and Finley King, along with Gregor Smith, Graeme Allan, Ryan Todd, Grant Jamieson, Jamie Crawford and George Pitcaithly.

Several players from the club’s U19 team will also feature for the Kestrels this season including Josh Saunders, Cameron Wilkie and Brodie Kay.

However, Chad Smith and Aaron Robertson have jumped ship to sign for Edinburgh Capitals.

The Caps have also added ex-Murrayfield Racers duo Ross Borwick and Dean Walker to their roster, while Ben Coughtrie has joined the club from Solway Sharks.

Promising young defender Aiden Paterson is another new addition to the Caps’ roster.

North Ayrshire Wild player/coach Scott Cowan has agreed another year with the club, while young netminder Harry Campbell is also back in the fold.
