SNL round-up: Wild in the Final Four after stunning comeback against Lynx

North Ayrshire Wild booked their place in the Scottish National League (SNL) Final Four after a thrilling encounter with Aberdeen Lynx on Saturday.

The two sides drew 3-3 in Aberdeen last weekend to leave their quarter-final SNL Play-off tie perfectly poised.

Neither team could break the deadlock during the first half of their second meeting as the respective defences stood firm.

Jack Flynn finally put Lynx ahead after 33 minutes, but Fraser Kerr levelled things up just before the second buzzer.

Goals by Alex Newman and Mark Simanovsky midway through the final session appeared to put Lynx in control of the tie.

However, Wild refused to lie down and took the game to a shoot-out courtesy of goals by Ryan Parkin and Scott Cowan.

Dylan Murray eventually bagged the decisive goal to spark wild celebrations.

Dundee Tigers are also through to the semi-finals of the play-offs after completing a 9-3 aggregate victory over Paisley Pirates.

The Pirates gave themselves hope of overturning a 6-0 deficit after the first leg by taking a 3-1 lead at the end of the second period in the reverse fixture.

They ran out of steam in the final session, and two late goals by the Tigers put the tie beyond any doubt.

SNL champions Kirkcaldy Kestrels eased into the Final Four with a 5-2 home victory over Kilmarnock Thunder.

Aaron Robertson (2), Scott McKay, Jake Grubb and Andy Finlay got the goals as the Kestrels sealed a 16-6 aggregate win.

Dundee Comets drew 5-5 at Belfast SNL Giants to complete an 18-5 overall victory in their quarter-final tie – Carter Hamill weighed in with a couple of goals for the home team.
