Tony Hand’s role within the Great Britain programme is being expanded to work with GB Women.
The National Development Head Coach – who currently oversees the men’s U20, U18 and U16 teams – will work with the coaches and players across the women’s set-up.
Hand, who is currently Director of Hockey at Murrayfield Racers, took up his national development role in August 2016.
Ice Hockey UK chairman, Richard Grieveson, said: “We are expanding Tony’s role to work with Great Britain Women.
“We have some quality coaches and exciting players in the women’s programme and Tony will add to that.
“His experience and knowledge of the sport is fantastic and he will be a massive asset to the women’s programme.
“He has done fantastic work with our juniors since 2016 and it seemed natural to expand this to the women too.”
Hand added: “I am excited to start work with Great Britain Women when next season gets underway.
“We have some fantastic talent in the women’s programme, with some very exciting young prospects.
“I look forward to working alongside the great set of coaches we have in the women’s set-up.”
GB Women’s head coach, Cheryl Smith, said: “We have a great women’s programme and some amazing young talent mixed in with a core of experienced senior players.
“I am sure the coaches and players will learn a lot from Tony’s many years of experience in the sport.
“Tony’s experience will only enhance that and I look forward to working with him in the future.”
