Two returnees for Kirkcaldy Kestrels as summer rebuild continues

Kirkcaldy Kestrels have confirmed two returnees to their roster for the 2020/21 Scottish National League (SNL) season.

Forwards Allan Anderson and Grant Jamieson have agreed another year with the club, joining new signing Craig Chalmers on the Kestrels’ squad for next term.

Anderson has plenty of higher-level experience under his belt, having previously played around 150 games in the Elite League for Fife Flyers.

The 31-year-old was the team’s top points scorer last season, scoring 15 goals with 16 assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.

“I’m looking forward to getting back after all this stuff calms down,” he said.

“Last year was a tough year for us after starting with almost a full new squad, but just as we were starting to get some consistency and looking to have a real go at the play-offs, the season was finished prematurely which was a real shame.

“Next season we’ll be looking to kick-on from where we left off and with us signing a very good goaltender in Craig things are looking positive for us this summer.”

Jamieson, who was previously part of the successful Fife Falcons squad at U20 level, bagged 12 points in 18 appearances for the Kestrels last season.

He said: “I’m buzzing to get going again – last season being cut short has given myself and the team a sense of unfinished business which we want to put right this year.”
