GB Women beaten by Slovenia but Olympic fate still in their own hands

Great Britain Women were beaten 2-1 by Slovenia in the Olympic qualifiers at Nottingham yesterday.

Lucy Beal put GB ahead late in the first period, but quickfire goals by Pia Pren and Julia Blazinsek on either side of the 30-minute mark secured victory for Slovenia.

Korea are top of the table after two games following their 10-0 win over Iceland earlier in the day.

However, GB’s fate remains in their own hands and they must beat Korea by two goals in the final game of the tournament on Sunday.
