Great Britain Women U18 slipped to a 7-1 defeat against Norway in their third game at the World Championship (Division 1B) tournament in Katowice on Sunday.
Lucy Beal scored GB’s goal in the first period, but Norway secured their second victory of the tournament to stay in the hunt for promotion.
Head coach, Cheryl Smith, said: “I didn’t think we turned up this afternoon and that is not like this side. Norway played with a lot of passion and heart – and I thought we were sadly lacking that.
“Things weren’t going our way from the get-go, but our team always finds a way through it to get the job done and it just wasn’t there.
“We now have to get our heads together and find a way past Austria. We need the team that played against China and Korea to be there on Tuesday and not what we had today.”
GB return to action against Austria on Tuesday (face-off 3.30pm UK time).
