Murrayfield Junior Ice Hockey Club sent two teams over the Irish Sea last weekend to face Belfast Junior Giants at the SSE Arena.
The U12 side went into their game aiming to complete the double over the Giants having beaten them at Murrayfield earlier in the season.
Cody Adams put the visitors ahead after nine minutes, but Belfast quickly drew level. However, Charlie Brady’s goal just before the first buzzer restored Murrayfield’s lead.
Two quickfire goals by Cory Nicol late in the second session made it 4-1 to the Edinburgh-based side and it was an advantage they would retain throughout a scoreless final period.
Murrayfield’s U20 team found much things tougher in their game, with the home team running out comprehensive 9-0 winners.
The U10s travelled to Kilmarnock to play in a cross-ice tournament against the hosts and teams from North Ayrshire and Lanarkshire.
With North Ayrshire kindly loaning some players, Murrayfield were able to ice two teams and both won all three games against their opponents.
All the players enjoyed the event, scoring some nice goals and keeping things tight at the back to continue their development.
