North Ayrshire Penguins travelled to Kilmarnock Tornadoes over the weekend aiming to return to winning ways in the Scottish U12 League.
The Penguins started the game strongly and raced into a 5-1 lead by the end of the first period – Rocco Murray (2), Jack Malcolm (2) and Max Stevenson got the goals.
Murray (2), Lennon Deeney (2) and William Greenlees added further goals as the Penguins made it 10-4 by the second buzzer.
Deeney extended their advantage early in the third period, but Kilmarnock refused to lie down and were rewarded as they brought the scoreline back to 11-8.
The remainder of the game was an end-to-end affair, with the Penguins adding a further three to their tally to secure a 14-9 victory – Stevenson (2) and Deeney bagged the final goals.
Greenlees was chosen as the MVP after scoring his first goal for the team.
