Ronnie Miller honoured in style as North Ayrshire stages memorial tournament

North Ayrshire Ice Hockey Club (NAIHC) can reflect on a job well done after successfully hosting their annual tournament over the last two weekends.

Renamed this year in honour of former club chairman Ronnie Miller, teams from across the United Kingdom took part in the event.

Mr Miller was instrumental in establishing the tournament in its formative years and his overall contribution to the club is well known in the sport.

This year’s tournament saw teams compete over two weekends across five junior age groups, with the winners eventually emerging as follows:

  • U10 – Lanarkshire
  • U12 – Lanarkshire
  • U14 – Inverness
  • U16 – Kirkcaldy
  • U19 – Solway

Mr Miller’s sister and wife handed out the prizes, while his son was also in attendance in what was a fitting tribute to a NAIHC stalwart.
