Head of Coaching, Steven Lynch, has issued a rallying call to Scottish Ice Hockey’s players and coaches as the return to action gathers pace.
Some rinks in Scotland have already confirmed their reopening dates, meaning that junior players will once again be able to lace up their skates.
Over the past few months, Lynch has coordinated a series of webinars alongside Barry Carnegie and Martyn King which were designed to keep people engaged with the sport during the lockdown.
The sessions were hugely popular, and Lynch believes they will prove to be extremely beneficial as SIH clubs finally get the chance to hit the ice.
“On behalf of Barry and Martyn, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for supporting the webinar series we’ve hosted over the last 12 weeks,” he said.
“We hope that everyone who has attended has gained valuable knowledge that they can utilise over the coming months.
“To each guest we’ve had, we thank you for giving up your time to help keep us engaged and think about the game while our rinks were closed.
“Thanks also to Michael Black of SIH media, the clubs and anyone else who has helped to promote the events via social media and other platforms.
“A special word also to the SIH board for their support – thank you all.
“As the rinks are reopening again we’ll be taking a break from the webinars, but we’re already planning for future sessions during the summer.
“Keep checking the SIH website and social media for updates, but let’s all now focus on enjoying our return to the ice and getting back to doing what we all love.”
