SNL preview: Comets aiming to move a step closer to the title

Dundee Comets will bid to edge closer to the Scottish National League (SNL) title this weekend when they go head-to-head with local rivals Dundee Tigers.

After moving to the top of the table with pair of victories last weekend, the Comets need two wins from their final four games to guarantee top spot.

They will be confident of homing in on their target on Saturday having triumphed 9-3 against the Tigers in the reverse fixture.

The Comets still have to face Paisley Pirates (H), Kirkcaldy Kestrels (A) and Kilmarnock Thunder (H) this season.

The Tigers have collected seven points from their four outings since their defeat against the Comets and will be out for revenge at Dundee Ice Arena.

They are currently fifth in the standings, but could still finish higher if they finish the regular season on a high note.

With the SNL play-offs on the horizon, the Tigers will be eager to secure a top four seeding before the end of the campaign.

The Tigers’ remaining fixtures are against Kirkcaldy (H), Paisley (H) and North Ayrshire Wild (H).
