SNL round-up: Late show by Comets sees off stern Tigers resistance

Dundee Comets are in touching distance of the Scottish National League (SNL) title after securing a hard-fought 4-2 victory at Dundee Tigers on Saturday.

Joel Gautschi put the Comets ahead in the second minute before Jonathan McBean doubled the lead early in the middle period.

Gary Kelly halved the deficit after 35 minutes to set up a thrilling final session.

Jack Henderson’s goal with less than seven minutes to play made it 2-2, but the Comets refused to settle for a point.

They were rewarded as Gautschi and Caly Robertson fired home two quickfire goals in the 56th minute.

The Comets need just one win from their final three fixtures to claim the SNL title.
