The first Dundee derby of the season is the highlight of the latest round of games in the Scottish National League this weekend.
The Comets and Tigers will go head-to-head on Saturday in a clash that should produce plenty of fireworks.
Involvement in the NIHL Moralee Cup has restricted the Comets to just two league outings this term, both of which they have won.
By contrast, the Tigers have lost three of their five matches, although the margin of defeat on each occasion has never been more than two goals.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Paisley Pirates visit Belfast SNL Giants aiming to keep pace with Aberdeen Lynx at the top of the table.
The Pirates head into the game four points behind Lynx with two games in hand, and a victory this weekend would boost their title hopes.
However, the Giants triumphed 7-1 in the reverse fixture and have been producing much-improved performances during the current campaign.
Table-topping Lynx will fancy their chances of securing their seventh victory of the season when they host Kilmarnock Thunder.
Lynx ran out 10-3 winners at Kilmarnock during November and will be eager to complete the double on home ice.
Kirkcaldy Kestrels will bid to get their season back on track as they embark on a weekend double-header.
The Kestrels were beaten 4-1 by the Pirates last Sunday and can ill-afford another slip-up if they are to keep pace with the top teams.
The Kirkcaldy outfit are in action at North Ayrshire Wild on Saturday before facing the Tigers at Fife Ice Arena the following day.
