SNL preview: Lynx face Giants test, Kestrels aiming to add to Thunder’s woes

Aberdeen Lynx head into the weekend aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the Scottish National League season.

Lynx have defeated Kirkcaldy Kestrels, Dundee Tigers and Kilmarnock Thunder to take an early lead in this season’s title race.

The north east outfit will need to be on their guard on Saturday as they welcome much-improved Belfast SNL Giants to Linx Ice Arena.

The Giants were unfortunate not to take something from their season opener against North Ayrshire Wild, before running out comfortable winners at Paisley Pirates.

North Ayrshire will be hoping their 4-3 victory over the Giants provides a useful form line to their chances against Paisley this weekend.

The Pirates crashed 7-1 on home ice against the Northern Irish side and will be keen to put that result behind them at Auchenharvie Leisure Centre.

The remaining game on Saturday sees Kilmarnock Thunder go head-to-head with Kirkcaldy at the Galleon Leisure Centre.

Kilmarnock have shipped double figures in their opening two games and could be in for a tough time against the Kestrels.

Steven Wishart’s team beat North Ayrshire 7-4 last weekend and will be confident of building on that result this weekend.
