SNL preview: Scottish clubs aiming to progress in cross-border cup competition

The NIHL North Cup takes centre stage again this weekend, with three Scottish National League (SNL) clubs in action over the next couple of days.

Solway Sharks will bid to maintain their unbeaten record this season when they welcome Billingham Stars to Dumfries on Saturday.

The Sharks ran out 9-7 winners in the reverse fixture and a victory this weekend would move them closer to claiming top spot in the group.

Murrayfield Racers face a weekend double-header as they aim to boost their chances of securing a semi-final spot in the cross-border competition.

They meet Dundee Comets at Murrayfield Ice Rink on Saturday, before travelling south to face Whitley Warriors the following day.

The Comets are also on the road on Sunday as they head to Teesside to take on Billingham.

There is just one league game this weekend as Aberdeen Lynx go head-to-head with Belfast Giants SNL on Saturday.

Lynx have won two of their four league matches this term, while the Giants were defeated in their solitary outing to date.

North Ayrshire Wild and Paisley Pirates meet each other twice this weekend with a place in the semi-finals of the Stuart Robertson Cup at stake.

The two sides head into the tie level on points in the southern group, although the Pirates have a game in hand over Wild.
