SNL round-up: Comets cash in as Giants deliver big blow to Lynx’s title hopes

Belfast SNL Giants delivered a devastating blow to Aberdeen Lynx’s Scottish National League title hopes with a thrilling third-period recovery on Saturday.

Lynx were 3-1 ahead at the end of the second session, but the Giants battled back to secure an impressive 4-3 victory.

Mack Stewart, Mark Morrison, Stephen Eccles and Cameron Hamill were on target for the Giants.

Dundee Comets took full advantage of Lynx’s slip-up by collecting four points from their two games over the weekend.

The Comets triumphed 6-2 at home to Kirkcaldy Kestrels and followed up with a win by the same scoreline at Paisley Pirates.

Sean Beattie was the standout performer for the Comets, weighing in with six goals over the two games.

The Dundee outfit are now three points behind Lynx with four games in hand.

Gary Parker (2), Ryan Parkin (2), Fraser Kerr and Scott Cowan were on the scoresheet as North Ayrshire Wild ran out 6-5 winners at Kilmarnock Thunder.

The result moved Wild off the bottom of the table ahead of Thunder.
