Dundee Comets’ hopes of reaching the semi-finals of the NIHL North Cup are over after they slipped to a defeat at home to Whitley Warriors.
The Comets were tied at 3-3 with under nine minutes to play, but a late goal blitz by the Warriors helped them secure a 7-3 victory.
North Ayrshire Wild moved up to third place in the Scottish National League standings with an 8-1 home success against Belfast Giants SNL.
Wild were 1-0 down at the end of the first period, but goals from eight different players helped them secure the points.
Andy Finlay (3) topped the scoring for Kirkcaldy Kestrels as they ran out 9-3 winners at Kilmarnock Thunder.
The Kestrels completed their Stuart Robertson Cup (SRC) fixtures the following day with a 3-3 draw at home to Dundee Tigers – Scott Jamieson bagged the equaliser late in the game.
Callum Boyd (4) and Michael Ireland (3) led the way for Murrayfield Racers as they romped to a 12-1 victory at Paisley Pirates in the SRC.
The Racers followed up with a comprehensive 22-0 home win over Kilmarnock Thunder in the league – Rihards Grigors (4), Alex Christian (3), Dean Walker (3) and Ireland (3) were amongst the scorers.
