SNL round-up: Pirates put the brakes on Lynx to move up to second place

Rolands Dietlavs was the star of the show as Paisley Pirates ended Aberdeen Lynx’s unbeaten record in the Scottish National League.

The former Murrayfield Racers forward bagged a hat-trick as the Pirates ran out 5-3 winners at Braehead Arena.

The result moves the Pirates up to second place in the table, two points behind Lynx with a game in hand.

Dundee Comets kicked off their league campaign with a 14-7 victory at Kilmarnock Thunder.

Ben Brown (4), Johnny McBean (3) and John Dolan (2) topped the scoring for the Comets.

Marcus Murdoch continued his excellent scoring form by weighing in with a hat-trick for the home team.
