Murrayfield Racers eased into the final of the Stuart Robertson Cup (SRC) after completing a 14-1 aggregate victory at Aberdeen Lynx.
Joel Gautschi (2), Rihards Grigors, Steven Clark and Callum Boyd were on target for the cup holders as they secured a 5-0 victory in the second leg of the tie to seal their progression.
Dundee Comets are also through to the final, although they were given a big scare by North Ayrshire Wild along the way.
The Comets triumphed 10-6 at North Ayrshire in the first leg, but Wild closed to within one goal by the 31-minute mark in the return game.
However, five unanswered goals in the second half of the match secured a 5-3 win on the night for the Comets and a 15-9 victory overall.
Dundee are set to host the first leg of the final on Saturday, 21st December, with Murrayfield staging the reverse fixture the following day.
Kirkcaldy Kestrels’ interest in this season’s Scottish Cup is over after they lost 12-4 on aggregate against Paisley Pirates in their quarter-final tie.
Belfast Giants SNL recorded their first league victory of the campaign with an emphatic 11-3 win at Kilmarnock Thunder – Stephen Eccles (4) topped their scoring.
The Giants found things tougher at Murrayfield the following evening as the reigning champions recorded an 8-3 victory – Lewis Gold (2) and Gautschi (2) were amongst the scorers for the home side.
