Murrayfield Racers progressed to the final of the NIHL North Cup after securing a thrilling 10-9 aggregate victory over Solway Sharks.
The Sharks recorded a 5-4 win in the first leg on Saturday, although Joel Gautschi’s late goal for the Racers ultimately proved to be an important moment in the tie.
The return fixture the following day was a see-saw affair, but the Racers eventually sealed a 6-4 success courtesy of Callum Boyd’s goal in the final minute.
Michael Ireland (3), Garry Simpson and Ethan Reid were the other scorers as Murrayfield booked their place in the final where they will face Whitley Warriors.
Dundee Tigers strengthened their grip on third place in the Scottish National League (SNL) standings with a comprehensive 17-1 home victory over Kilmarnock Thunder.
Andrew Henderson (3), Robbie Barnett (2), Ross McIntosh (2) and Richy Fox (2) topped the scoring for the Tigers to give them a five-point advantage over fourth-placed North Ayrshire Wild.
Adam Walker and Daniel Abercrombie both hit hat-tricks as Paisley Pirates picked up their first victory of 2020 with an 8-2 success at Aberdeen Lynx.
Aberdeen were also out of luck on Sunday as they lost 6-2 at Dundee Comets in the first leg of their Scottish Cup quarter-final tie – Ben Brown (2), Ben Edmonds (2), Jonathan McBean and John Dolan got the goals for the home side.
