Four league fixtures took place across the Scottish National League over the weekend, producing big scores, tight contests, and continued pressure across the table.
Saturday Results
Edinburgh Capitals 12 – 0 Kilmarnock Thunder
Edinburgh Capitals posted a commanding home win, but Kilmarnock Thunder showed positive intent throughout. The visitors pushed hard in the final period, registering 21 shots on goal, all turned aside by Capitals netminder Ciaran Hoggan. Three of Edinburgh’s goals were scored on the power play, with Thunder’s time in the penalty box proving costly.
The win keeps the Capitals at the top of the table.
Aberdeen Lynx 4 – 3 Paisley Pirates
Aberdeen Lynx took a 4–3 home win over Paisley Pirates at the Linx Ice Arena on Touch of Tartan night. Jordan Leyden opened the scoring, before Paisley moved ahead through two Craig Peacock goals. Jack Flynn levelled the game on the power play, with Jaydn Baxter and Conor Duncan adding further goals for the Lynx. Michael Dobson pulled one back late for the Pirates.
Lynx netminder Rory Wood left the game following a cut to the wrist, with Kain Mitchell stepping in for his first SNL appearance. The result brings an end to a difficult run for the Lynx.
Kirkcaldy Kestrels 1 – 4 Dundee Rockets
A tight opening period saw both sides evenly matched before Dundee took control in the second. Grant Reekie opened the scoring on the power play, followed shortly by two further Rockets goals to give the visitors a three-goal cushion heading into the third. Both teams found the net in the final period, with Jamie Wilson scoring for the Kirkcaldy Kestrels before Sean Beattie sealed the result with an empty-net goal for the Rockets.
The victory marked a sixth consecutive win for the Rockets.
Sunday Result
Whitley Warriors 7 – 0 North Ayrshire Wild
Whitley Warriors recorded a shutout victory over North Ayrshire Wild at Whitley on Sunday. Harry Harley opened the scoring, while the Wild remained disciplined and worked with a shortened bench. The Warriors applied consistent pressure across all three periods to build their lead and control the contest.
The result keeps the Warriors second in the standings.
League Picture After the Weekend
Edinburgh Capitals continue to lead the table and hold games in hand over Whitley Warriors in second.
Dundee Rockets remain in close pursuit in third following their sixth straight win.
Mid-table positions stay tightly grouped, with Paisley Pirates and Kirkcaldy Kestrels tracking closely, while Aberdeen Lynx sit sixth after their home victory.
At the lower end, North Ayrshire Wild and Kilmarnock Thunder continue to search for results.
