Delight for Lightning as club secures National Lottery finding boost

Scottish Ice Hockey is delighted to confirm that Lanarkshire Lightning Junior Ice Hockey Club (LLJIHC) have been awarded £9,100 from the National Lottery’s Community Fund.

The funding will enable LLJIHC to run a healthy lifestyles project for young people.

The club will give youngsters the chance to learn to play ice hockey and receive support in living a healthy lifestyle.

LLJIHC secured the funding through support from SIH, who have contracted with Greycat Associates to assist its members at no cost to the clubs.

Club treasurer Linsey Turnbull said: “We’d like to thank SIH for making it possible for the club to receive the funding.

“The process was really simple and was managed by Greycat Associates on our behalf.

“This funding will enable us to offer free learn to play sessions for young people for the next year.

“It will allow us to grow the number of kids playing ice hockey – something which is really important after the past 18 months.”
