Delight for North Ayrshire as Devils and Penguins secure final places

North Ayrshire Ice Hockey Club had double cause for celebration over the weekend as two of their teams booked their places at the upcoming Scottish Cup Finals event.

North Ayrshire Devils were first to make progress at U20 level, comfortably defeating Ayr Bruins 19-3 in their semi-final.

In the U12 competition, North Ayrshire Penguins secured their place in the final after resisting a late fightback by their counterparts from Murrayfield.

Rocco Murray (2), Max Stevenson and Lennon Deeney got the goals as the Penguins sealed a narrow 4-3 victory.

North Ayrshire Stars were out of luck in the U14 quarter-final as they slipped to an 8-0 defeat at home to Kirkcaldy Chiefs.

The Devils and Penguins will play their respective finals at Dundee Ice Arena on Saturday, 21st March.
