Scotland youngsters shine at Conference Series event in Dumfries

Scotland U13 enjoyed a productive time of things in Dumfries over the weekend, claiming top spot in their group at the Conference Series event.

Victories over North West, South East, South West and a draw with Midlands fired Scotland to the top of the standings.

Bailey Thomson and Josh Crawley led the scoring with four goals apiece to help Scotland finish a point in front of Midlands.

The U11 team also performed well in their age group, winning two out of four matches including an impressive 12-2 success over South East.

SIH chairman, David Hand, said: “These events a great way for our junior teams to prepare for the big Conference Weekend at Sheffield in May.

“We’re absolutely delighted to see the U13 team finish top of their group in Dumfries and would like to congratulate everyone involved on their achievement.

“Our U11 team also did themselves proud, competing well throughout their group matches, and they look well on track to make an impression in Sheffield.

“Thanks to everyone who was part of this weekend, and thanks also to Dumfries for staging an excellent event.”
