SIH offers goalies and coaches exciting development opportunity

Scottish Ice Hockey is delighted to confirm that USA Hockey’s Colin Grubb will be hosting a goaltending webinar on Saturday.

After winning British championships at junior level with Kirkcaldy Ice Hockey Club, Grubb went on to play for Fife Flyers, Paisley Pirates and Solway Sharks.

He started his coaching journey aged 17 with some influential coaches in Kirkcaldy and has since gone on to work extensively in the United States.

Grubb is currently a head coach for multiple teams in Houston, Texas, and holds a variety of volunteer roles with USA Hockey (USAH).

He runs his own goalie camps with goaltenders from across the USA and a yearly camp in Dumfries.

Last season he was invited to be a coach/evaluator at the USAH National Player development camps in Buffalo to help select the U17 team to compete in the Five Nations tournament.

SIH head of coaching, Steven Lynch, said: “We are delighted that Colin has agreed to work with our goalies once again. Being a Scottish boy, he is keen to help us any time he can.

“This will be a good webinar for our goalies of all ages and for our coaches too who want to learn more about the position.

“I would like to thank Colin for giving up his time to do this and also thank and give credit to Colin Lees who has worked hard to put this together.

“I also ask that everyone keeps an eye on SIH media platforms as we hope to be able to announce another webinar for players and coaches in the coming days.”

The webinar takes place on Saturday, 23rd January (4.00 pm). Please click here to attend the session (Meeting ID: 875 8837 7389, Passcode: 988447).
