SIH webinar: An evening with Tony Hand

The SIH National Coaching Team are inviting all registered coaches within Ice Hockey UK to spend an evening talking hockey with Tony Hand.

The current Great Britain Head Development Coach and Director of Hockey at Murrayfield Racers is the most decorated player the country has ever produced.

He has since gone on to forge a successful coaching career at club level, in addition to holding numerous roles within the GB set-up.

Hand will specifically be discussing the GB National Program, what it takes to become a GB player and what the coaches are looking for.

He will also discuss what club coaches at all levels can and should be focusing on to prepare players for national teams.

In addition to offering other insights and tips to coaches, there will also be an opportunity to take part in a question and answer session.

SIH Head of Coaching, Steven Lynch, said: “Getting Tony to agree to join us and spend time talking to all coaches within Scottish Ice Hockey and beyond is a real coup for the National Coaching Team.

“This feeds into our program of keeping our sport alive during lockdown by providing coaches with the opportunity to listen to someone who possesses a ton of knowledge and experience.

“This will only help to improve coaching in this country across the board. We look forward to our evening with Tony and what he has to say about the GB program and what he expects from junior coaches around the country.”

To receive the Zoom link to join the webinar on Wednesday, 10th February (7.30 pm) please email the SIH National Coaching team. You must be a registered coach within IHUK to join.
