The Scottish National League (SNL) play-offs get underway this weekend with four intriguing quarter-final first-leg fixtures.
There is plenty to play for over the next couple of days, with the eight teams aiming to improve their prospects of qualifying for the SNL Final Four at Dundee Ice Arena.
Newly-crowned SNL champions Kirkcaldy Kestrels will fancy their chances of progressing from their tie against Kilmarnock Thunder.
The Kestrels completed the double over Thunder during the regular season, although they were pushed hard on their last visit to Kilmarnock in December.
Aberdeen Lynx renew rivalries with North Ayrshire Wild in their quarter-final tie, having defeated the same opponents 7-0 in the league two weeks ago.
However, Wild will be hoping to keep themselves in with a chance of making it through with the second leg being played at Auchenharvie Leisure Centre next weekend.
Dundee Comets ended the regular season in third place to set up a play-off showdown with Belfast SNL Giants.
The Giants have proved troublesome on home ice and will be eyeing an upset if they can keep things tight in Dundee.
Paisley Pirates lock horns with Dundee Tigers in their last-eight tie knowing their opponents gave them plenty of trouble during the regular season.
There was little to choose between the two teams, and another close encounter is on the cards in the play-offs.
The winners of the four ties will progress to the SNL Final Four at Dundee Ice Arena on April 30th/May 1st. The four losing teams will contest the Aurora Cup on the same dates.
