Dundee Comets go head-to-head with Paisley Pirates in the Scottish National League (SNL) hoping to kick-off the New Year with a four-point weekend.
The Comets will face the Pirates at Braehead Arena on Saturday, before hosting the reverse fixture at Dundee Ice Arena the following day.
Both sides have struggled for consistency during the first half of the season and go into the double-header in the bottom half of the table.
The Comets have won just two of their six league matches this term, while the Pirates have recorded just one more victory from the same number of games.
Murrayfield Racers face Kirkcaldy Kestrels on Sunday aiming to extend their winning running to 10 matches in all competitions.
The reigning SNL champions currently trail table-topping Solway Sharks by 16 points, but they have seven games in hand on their title rivals.
The two sides are due to face each other at Murrayfield Ice Rink at the end of January and the Racers will be eager to close the gap on the Sharks prior to that clash.
Dundee Tigers host Belfast Giants SNL on Saturday hoping to strengthen their grip on a top four place in the standings.
The Tigers’ seven-game unbeaten run in the league and cup was ended by Solway last weekend, but they will be confident of regaining the winning thread against the Giants.
North Ayrshire Wild are also in action on Saturday as they welcome Kilmarnock Thunder to Auchenharvie Leisure Centre.
Wild comfortably defeated Thunder twice during the group stage of the Stuart Robertson Cup and added another emphatic victory in their first league meeting.
