Aberdeen Lynx made the perfect start to their Scottish National League (SNL) campaign with a 7-5 home victory over Kirkcaldy Kestrels on Saturday.

Player/coach Jordan Leyden weighed in with a couple of goals as Aberdeen came out on top in front of a bumper crowd at Linx Ice Arena.

Dundee Tigers followed up their opening weekend win with a hard-fought 6-4 success at North Ayrshire Wild.

Andy Henderson (2), Jack Henderson, John Gordon, Callum Hill and Ross Johnston were on target for the Tigers.

Dundee Comets boosted their hopes of qualifying for the NIHL Moralee Cup (North) semi-finals with a 3-0 home win over Whitley Warriors.

Joel Gautschi, Jonathan McBean and John Dolan were the Comets’ goalscorers.

The Dundee side face group leaders Solway Sharks at home next Saturday, before visiting Whitley the following day.

The group winners will play Widnes Wild in the last four while the runners-up meet Solihull Barons.
