Strong final period cements victory for Murrayfield JIHC U12 over Aberdeen

Murrayfield JIHC’s high-flying U12 side enjoyed a productive time of things as they faced their counterparts from Aberdeen Lynx last weekend.

Goals in the first period by James Thomson and Finlay Gair put Murrayfield two goals ahead, but Aberdeen halved the deficit in the middle session.

However, home side stepped things up in the third period with goals by Cory Nicol (2), Cory Adams and Gair again securing an impressive 6-1 victory.

The club’s U16 team travelled to Kilmarnock on Saturday in the league, but found themselves on the wrong end of an 8-3 scoreline – Jack Adams, Finn Hall and Andrew Goldie got their goals.

They were also out of luck the following day at Lanarkshire Lightning, with the home team sealing a 9-4 victory to progress to the next stage of the Scottish Cup – Adams (2) topped the scoring for Murrayfield.
