Scottish Ice Hockey is excited to unveil the full fixture list for the upcoming SNL season — and it’s set to be one of the biggest yet.
This year, the league grows to nine teams with the addition of Solway Sharks SNL and Whitley Warriors, expanding competition and bringing fresh matchups to the calendar.
🏆 League Format
The league structure remains familiar:
Each team will play the others twice at home and twice away throughout the regular season. At the end of league play, the team with the most points will be crowned SNL Champions.
🔁 Playoff Format Returns to 1v8
The Playoffs will revert to the traditional knockout format. Once the regular season concludes:
- The 9th placed team will not qualify
- The top 8 teams will face off in 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5 matchups
- The four winners will advance to the Playoff Weekend
🏆 Scottish Cup Play-In & First Round
This year, Solway Sharks SNL and Whitley Warriors will compete in a play-in round for the final spot in the Scottish Cup.
- Their league games on 14th September and 18th October will double as the home and away qualifiers.
- The team with the highest aggregate score across the two games will progress to the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.
The draw for the Scottish Cup Quarter-Finals is:
- Paisley Pirates vs Solway Sharks / Whitley Warriors
- Kilmarnock Thunder vs Aberdeen Lynx
- North Ayrshire Wild vs Edinburgh Capitals
- Dundee Rockets vs Kirkcaldy Kestrels
The winner of each tie will move on to the semi-finals.
