Five games across two competitions are on the schedule this weekend, with three league fixtures on Saturday followed by two Scottish Cup semi-final first legs on Sunday. With league positions still in flux and Cup progression on the line, there is plenty at stake across the board.

Saturday
Kilmarnock Thunder vs Edinburgh Capitals
Kilmarnock Thunder host league leaders Edinburgh Capitals at the Galleon Centre, with the sides having met only once so far this season. That meeting, in January at Murrayfield, ended in an emphatic Capitals victory.
Saturday’s contest presents a very different challenge. The smaller ice surface in Kilmarnock reduces time and space, placing greater emphasis on quick decisions and structure. It will be a tough test for the Thunder, while a two-point return for the Capitals would see them extend their lead at the top of the table.
Kirkcaldy Kestrels vs Paisley Pirates
Paisley make the trip to Fife for the fourth meeting between these two closely matched sides. The Pirates sit on 33 points, with the Kestrels on 29 but holding a game in hand.
Paisley have won all three previous encounters this season — two early in the campaign and the most recent in late December — though the last meeting was settled by a two-goal margin. With positions in the table still tightly packed, another competitive contest is expected.
Aberdeen Lynx vs Solway Sharks
This is the final league meeting between the Lynx and the Sharks this season, and the third encounter overall. Aberdeen have taken victories in each of the previous matchups, typically by narrow two- or three-goal margins.
So far this season, opening periods between the sides have tended to be closely contested, with games opening up in the second period and Aberdeen finding greater control later on. However, Solway are a new side that has continued to develop as the season has progressed.
The Lynx will be looking to close the gap to the mid-table, while the Sharks aim to move ahead of North Ayrshire Wild, giving the fixture clear significance for both sides’ respective league aims.

Sunday
Dundee Rockets vs Edinburgh Capitals
The Scottish Cup semi-finals get underway with Dundee hosting Edinburgh in the first leg. It will be the Capitals’ second game of the weekend following Saturday’s league trip to Kilmarnock.
The sides have already taken points off each other in league competition this season, highlighting how competitive the matchup has been. While this is only the opening leg, both teams will know that building an advantage now could ease the pressure heading into the return fixture.
Whitley Warriors vs Aberdeen Lynx
Sunday sees the Lynx face a demanding 500-mile round trip to Whitley Bay for the home leg of the Warriors’ Scottish Cup semi-final. It comes less than 24 hours after Aberdeen’s league game, adding another layer of difficulty to the task.
The Lynx have recorded one league victory against Whitley this season, while Whitley have claimed three. Despite that, first periods have generally been closely contested, and the opening leg will place a premium on focus and execution.
With a place in the final decided over two legs, both sides will be keen to establish an early edge.
