Scottish Cup
The season’s opening Scottish Cup clash saw North Ayrshire Wild host the Edinburgh Capitals at Auchenharvie Ice Rink, where the Capitals carried their unbeaten league form into Cup competition with a 6–2 victory.
An early power-play goal from Chad Smith gave the visitors the lead before Liam Houston equalised for the Wild. The Capitals quickly regained control through Cameron Gallagher, and a strong second period saw them extend their advantage further.
In the final frame, Connor McNulty fired home unassisted on the power play before Dylan Murray replied for the hosts. A late goal from Joe Lynch rounded off a confident Cup performance for Edinburgh, who look just as sharp in knockout competition as they have in league play.
SNL League Action
In league play, the Edinburgh Capitals continued their flawless run, recording a 6–0 shutout over the Paisley Pirates.
Although listed as a Pirates home fixture, the game was played at Murrayfield, where the Capitals maintained control throughout — scoring once in the first period, three in the second, and two more in the third.
The result keeps Edinburgh unbeaten in nine league games and clear at the top of the table on 18 points.
The Whitley Warriors stay second on 16 points after a dominant 20–2 win against Kilmarnock Thunder.
Thunder made a bright start, holding the score at 1–1 early on, but Whitley’s experience and quality quickly took control as they built a commanding lead through the middle period. The home side’s discipline slipped late in the game, with a string of penalties in the final period proving costly as the Warriors continued to find the net at will and power their way to an emphatic victory.
Despite Sunday’s defeat, the Paisley Pirates remain in third place with 14 points.
The Dundee Rockets move up to fourth after a 6–0 victory over the Solway Sharks.
The Rockets controlled the game throughout, taking advantage of late power-play opportunities while limiting Solway’s chances in front of goal. The Sharks worked hard to contain Dundee’s pressure, but with a shorter bench, fatigue may have played a part as the game wore on.
The Aberdeen Lynx also climbed a spot following a 3–2 win over the Kirkcaldy Kestrels at the Linx Ice Arena.
The Lynx led 3–0 heading into the final minutes before the Kestrels pulled their goalie and struck twice through Allan Anderson to set up a tense finish. Aberdeen held firm to secure the points and move up to 12, level with the Kestrels.
The Kestrels drop to sixth on 12 points, while the Sharks, Wild, and Thunder remain unchanged in the standings.
