This past weekend, the SNL was set for four matches, but Storm Eowyn disrupted plans, causing the North Ayrshire Wild vs Paisley Pirates game on Saturday to be postponed. A rescheduled date will be announced soon. Here’s a recap of the remaining games:
Aberdeen Lynx 2-5 Dundee Rockets
In a fiercely contested game, the Dundee Rockets secured a vital win over the Aberdeen Lynx at the Linx Ice Arena.
The Rockets started strong, with John Dolan scoring on the power play just four minutes into the first period. Both teams battled evenly throughout the opening frame, setting the stage for an exciting matchup.
The second period saw Rio Paige extend the Rockets’ lead halfway through, but the Lynx found life late in the period when Josef Babicka scored, cutting the deficit to 2-1 before the buzzer.
In the third period, Dundee’s Ben Brown added to the Rockets’ tally, only for Gary Kelly to respond on the power play, keeping the Lynx within reach at 3-2. An unexpected delay occurred due to a referee injury, briefly pausing the game. Once play resumed, momentum shifted as John Dolan scored his second of the night on another power play. Ben Brown sealed the deal with his second goal, securing the Rockets’ 5-2 victory.
Edinburgh Capitals 2-1 Kirkcaldy Kestrels
At Murrayfield Ice Arena, the Edinburgh Capitals edged out the Kirkcaldy Kestrels in a closely fought 2-1 game. The win brings the Capitals to 28 points, keeping them firmly in 2nd place in the league standings.
Dundee Rockets 10-1 Kilmarnock Thunder
Fresh off their win in Aberdeen, the Dundee Rockets returned to home ice on Sunday, dominating Kilmarnock Thunder in a one-sided contest.
The Rockets opened the scoring with a power play goal from Sean Beattie and went on to net five goals in the first period alone. The second period saw them add four more, with Thunder struggling to keep up.
In the final period, Ross Andreucci scored Kilmarnock’s lone goal—his third of the season—but the Rockets quickly answered with their 10th goal of the night. The emphatic victory solidifies Dundee’s position at the top of the table with 33 points and an incredible 11-game winning streak.
With only a few games left in the regular season, the race for playoff positions is heating up. Teams are pushing harder than ever to secure their spots as the final stretch approaches. Stay tuned for more action in the weeks ahead!
